DAY 64
27.2.2017 Ptuj - Podlehnik, Slovenia. The Civil March For Aleppo group walked towards the border with Croatia. What a day! The hostel was full of surprises starting from previous night intense orga meeting, through cooking while everyone was already crazy hungry, and a busy morning. It was not clear if Ahmad can come with us further. I joined the team on a trip to Ljubljana, the aim was to negotiate the permission for Ahmad to enter Croatia. After long talks in the embassy Anna succeeded and he could march with us further on. In the evening we had a huge pleasure to watch a show of local traditional Slovenian "Kurenti monsters" suits, performed by locals. Man, they have the stamina to keep dancing in those heavy and furry suits! The show celebrates the carnival period and says goodbye to a long winter. People from Podlehnik were extremely hospitable. And I had my birthday song sang in...12 languages (or so)...:D . Marchers: 33, Route length: 22 km GPS Tracking: https://www.endomondo.com/users/13828223/workouts/880949604
Read MoreAnna, founder of the march, waiting to enter the premises of Croatia embassy. The whole action was filmmed by march's documentalist and photographed by me so it looked bit awkward. On many occasions before and after there was lot of hoo-ha abot the CMFA actions. It gave some an impression of staged-celebrity action.
Evening meeting.
