DAY 215
Civil March for Aleppo in Beirut was staying in a beautiful old (1935), Beirut style house in Sanayeh district. Its called „Zico house” (after Moustapha Yamouth - „Zico”).
in 1990’s, Zico decided to transform this spacious building from a family house into an alternative space that housed contemporary art. The whole building is a house for ecological, social, youth and cultural organizations.cmfamarchcivilmarchforaleppobeirut215alextomzicohouseaccommodation
CMFA group on the way, to fancy, Disneyland-style Beirut downtown. Its the city’s flashiest and most expensive district, the place housing essentially all forms of worthwhile Lebanese governance, which also happens to be the heart of the Lebanese capital. It was in 2016 reported to be a Lebanese non-grata region. Locals, not as highly welcomed as rich foreigners were not allowed entry the Nejmeh Square. Before entering the Lebanese had to be interrogated by army personnel, get theirs IDs checked out and sometimes even searched before let through the barricades. And we wondered why some parts of Beirut's downtown are empty…
