DAY 192
5.07.2017 Chios - Samos, Greece. I am leaving Chios. For many Europeans its a place for a perfect vacation, for thousands refugees, a prison. Moost of the members of the small, isolated islander society are tired of the situation, blaming for "everything" the newcomers. Athens government has a smart-cruel solution: being a refugee, you just can't leave the island. UNHCR tries to pass their activities to the local authorities, but without bigger support from the central Greek government, it just will not work. At the end of July, the Greek government will take over completely the coordination of the refugee crisis as well as the allocation of European funds. This means that several NGOs will end their operations and will essentially leave thousands of people without support and services. Waiting, everyone is waiting. Civil march met a lot of good people here, I am grateful for all the precious moments, hospitality and support. Sea travel with a ferry. CMFA arrived on Samos and looked for some place to sleep. Hidden, isolated, beautiful small beach was more than we expected. Sometimes the acomodation place is more than five stars.
