DAY 189
02.07.2017 Chios, Greece. Take a look at what was happenig in Moria, a hilltop former military base transformed into a refugee camp on the Greek Island of Lesbos. Barbed wire, prison cells, stretched beyond capacity. A place that seems to require a disaster to happen in order to create positive change. Since five days, four people from Syria, Iraq and Iran were on a hunger strike in Moria, one was striking in Safos Square in Mitilini. They have refused food but are drinking water. Their protest called for freedom of those in Moria's jail and for freedom of all refugees, because in the camp everyone can be arbitrarily detained. They had declared that they will only stop their strike if they are given freedom. Arash Hampay who had been striking for four days from than in Safos Square, wished his (and other refugee) story to be shared and heared by the international community. Wika (Poland) preparred this graphic to support the cause.
