DAY 216
29.07.2017 The Civil March For Aleppo, after 7 months of marching reached Lebanon, first country outside of Europe, only hundreds km from the city of Aleppo. The group is currently in Beirut, organising for the upcoming days. Time passess with networking, meeting people, organisnig. This is also the time of crucial decisions to be taken - the group finally decided whetever go or not to go the Aleppo itself. The question has been present since the beginning of the project and there were so many approaches to the subject, as many marchers took part (over 3500). Its not easy to find a solution that satisfies everyone in a such large group. The ultimate decision that was taken is to march no furter than the border, ending the journey in a place that Syria is in the access of the sight.

Reaching Syria from West, and heading towards Damascuss would be possible only by obtaining official permission and visas from the Syrian goverment, which would be higly disputable. Reaching Syria apolitically is out of our finnancial and organisational possibilities. Ending the journey in Lebanon, close to the Syrian border, among the refugees, was chosen by the majority.cmfamarchcivilmarchforaleppobeirut216annatomalexmalikajasmineskype
